Clark's River Bypass

Local leaders have proposed the construction an eastern bypass.  The limited-access four-lane highway would become US 641.  The road would begin near Clarks River at the existing US 641 (south of Murray) and pretty much parallel the river to the new Kentucky 80.  Interchanges would be built at KY 121, KY 94, Chestnut Street, Utterback Road/North 4th Street, and KY 80.  Chestnut Street and Utterback would need to be extended east for interchanges with US 641.

The proposed highway would help traffic on existing US 641/12th Street, which sees up to 25,000 vehicles each day.  The highway is currently not in the state's six-year highway plan.  An artist's rendering of the KY 94/US 641 intersection can been seen at the Chamber office.
