Projects: Downtown Business Loop |
|
A downtown business loop is in the works within the
City of Murray. The loop would help alleviate
traffic on the southeast side of the city. The plan
calls for a road from the intersection of Glendale Road
and Fourth Street to bypass the courthouse square to
connect with the intersection of Industrial Road and
Chestnut Street. Traffic coming into Murray from Ky. 121
South would also be able to bypass downtown and 12th
Street congestion.
This new route has been included in the state's
six-year highway plan. Funds for right-of-way
acquisition, design, and construction has been budgeted
for the 2012-13 fiscal year. The project is
estimated to cost about $6.3 million.
