Parks & Recreation
Murray/Calloway County has two main parks in the city
of Murray: Central Park and Chestnut Park.
Chestnut Park is what the locals refer to as "the old
city park". This park features two baseball
diamons, six basketball courts, new playground
equipment, restrooms, paved parking, beautiful large
trees, picnic tables, and shelters. This park is
located between 8th and 10th streets and is on Chestnut
Street.
Central Park is large and features many new
attractions. A professional-grade disc golf course
has recently been developed and new state-of-the-art
automated batting cages have been installed on Arcadia
Drive. The park also has a network of hiking
trails through tall timbers. In addition, there
are four baseball diamonds with centralize
restrooms/concession stand.
You will also find lots of shelters, playground
equipment, picnic tables, and plenty of paved parking.
Playhouse in the Park, a community theatre, is also
located here.
Bee Creek Soccer Complex, adjacent to the park
located off north 4th Street, features several
regulation soccer fields.
